What is said to have been one of the most disastrous fires in the Great Dismal Swamp in recent years is about to burn itself out after having devastated an area estimated at 20,000 acres between Wallaceton and Deep Creek. The timber burned was largely the property of Richmond Cedar Works. The fire is believed to have started from a logging locomotive.
