Tuesday night’s automobile tragedy which caused the death of Captain Joe Abbott and another member of the Elizabeth City Base Ball team has put an end to baseball in Elizabeth City for this season, but there will be one more game. Elizabeth City will play a benefit game this afternoon with the Police Team of Norfolk to raise a purse for the widow and three small children of their dead Captain, Joe Abbott.
Everybody is urged to buy tickets for this final game for a worthy cause. The tickets are 50 cents each. The game will be called at 4:30.
