Farewell Service for Miss Mabel Cherry

Miss Mabel Cherry, daughter of Rev. W.S. Cherry, will leave August the 13th for Vancouver, whence she will sale for Japan on the 23rd, on the Empress of Asia, for Korea, where she goes as a missionary under the auspices of the Methodist church. Miss Cherry is a graduate of Davenport College and of Trinity College, 1922, and taught last year in the Children’s Home at Winton, the orphanage of the Western Conference. She has been with her parents at Prospect some time.

A farewell reception will be given at Prospect church in honor of Miss Cherry on Thursday of this week. The service will begin at 11 o’clock and be followed by a picnic dinner. Many interesting addresses are on the program and the friends of Miss Cherry and the public generally are cordially invited to attend.

Miss Cherry will be stationed at Wonsan, Korea, and while learning the Korean language, will teach the children of missionaries.
