Here is a picture of Mrs. Lula Mann of Nags head and her little brood of four children who were about to lose their little home by foreclosure of a mortgage on it. Readers of The Independent were told about he case of the struggling widow and her dilemma and they came to her relief with more than enough money to take care of the mortgage. She now has her home free of debt and a tidy sum to buy warmer clothing for her babies this winter. Snapshot photo by W.H. Zoeller.
