Carl Brady, young man who was severely lacerated last Wednesday afternoon by R.M. Teague, a fellow worker in the Erwin cotton mill, is expected to be released soon from Watts hospital. In the meantime, Teague is under an appearance bond awaiting trial that will be held as soon as Brady is able to appear in court.
Brady received a deep cut extending from the left shoulder to the elbow, supposedly done with a pocket knife. More than a dozen stitches were required to close the wound.
The men quarreled, it is stated, while at work. Brady, the younger man, is said to have struck Teague several times in the face and to have made an effort to strike his opponent with a tool. It was at this point that the knife was brought into play, it is declared.
Teague immediately after the cutting went to Sheriff Harwood’s office and gave himself up and was placed under bond.
