Charlotte, Oct. 9—A watermelon seed swallowed by Herron Gay, 11 months old, of Allen, N.C., a week ago, and which had completely shut off the functioning of the right lung, was removed Tuesday morning by Dr. C.N. Peeler, at the Charlotte Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat hospital.
