Rev. E. Posten filled his regular appointment here Saturday and Sunday.

Mrs. Grady Modlin and little son, William, of Norfolk, Va., spent Tuesday night with Mrs. J.T. Hughson.

Rev. L.E. Dailey of Mars Hill and Rev. Joyner of Williamston were the dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Chamblee, Friday.

Mrs. Clarence Modlin and children of Jackson returned home Friday after spending about two weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hughson, and was accompanied by her father, Mr. John Hughson, and Mrs. Cleaton Hughson and Misses Maude and Ray Hughson, who returned home Sunday.

Miss Ella Bozeman of Ahoskie spent Saturday night and Sunday with Miss Ruby Wiggins.

Mr. Herbert Hughson from near Mars Hill visited his grandmother, Mrs. Caroline Slaughter, Sunday.

Mr. Grady Holloman of Rocky Mount visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Holloman, Sunday.

Mrs. Kate Slack and daughter, Mrs. Spencer of Norfolk, Va., and Mrs. Adkins and daughter, Cordell of Bethlehem, visited relatives in this section Saturday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. S.C. Godwin and son, Edward, visited Mr. and Mrs. Frate Modlin near Union, Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Morris and Mrs. Sue Britten of Aulander visited Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Chamblee Sunday afternoon.

Mr. Dannie Lewis from near Ahoskie visited Masters Robert and Elton Chamblee Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Colston and Mr. and Mrs. R.P. Slaughter of Ahoskie were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Sumner, Sunday.

Mr. J.J. Chamblee and little son, Harold, visited Mr. J.N. Wiggins Sunday afternoon in the Bethlehem section.

Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Holloman spent Sunay afternoon in the home of Mrs. Bettie Adkins in Bethlehem.

Mr. and Mrs. T.B. Dilday and little son, Willliam, visited Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Vann Sunday afternoon near Montgomerys Mill.

Miss Ruby Colston of Ahoskie and Miss Mary Sallie Willoughby were the dinner guests of Miss Isoland Slaughter, Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Hughson and little daughter, Frances Leigh, and Mr. and Mrs. Randall F. Wiggins visited Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Peele Sunday afternoon in Bethlehem.

Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Casper, accompanied by Miss Estella Willoughby, visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Slaughter, Sunday.

Several from this section attended the revival services at Bethlehem last week.

Mrs. Fannie Adkins of Norfolk, Va., is visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Chamblee.

Mrs. Sue Barham and son, Leon, and grand daughter, Vernell of Union, visited in their old home Saturday night and Sunday. We were very glad to have them in our midst again.

Mr. Clarence Modlin returned home Monday after visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Hughson.

Mr. C.G. Slaughter and Misses Evelyn and Lois Holloman, Ethel Dilday and Eria Slaughter visited Mr. Slaughter’s mother, Mrs. Mollie Slaughter in the Bethlehem section Sunday afternoon.

Misses Mary Leigh and Virgie Horton and Etta Parker from near Union were the guests of Miss Ruby Wiggins Sunday evening.

Miss Julia Winborne of Norfolk, Va., visited Miss Nannie Hughson Sunday afternoon.

Mr. Jim Chamblee from near Ahoskie visited his brother, Mr. J.T. Chamblee, Sunday.

Misses Effie Earley and Pauline Doughtie and Messrs. Floyd Doughtie and Colbert Chamblee were visitors in Roduco Sunday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Willoughby and children from near Brantleys Grove visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hughson, Sunday afternoon.

Miss Eunice Chamblee from near Ahoskie was the dinner guest of Miss Myrtle Willoughby, Sunday.

We are very glad to report Mr. and Mrs. R.D. Lowe’s children are out again after an attack of measles.

Several attended the baptizing at Thomas’ bridge Sunday afternoon from Bethlehem church.

We have had frost for three mornings in succession and a fire feels good now-a-days.
