Methodists Buy Woodley Home, Oct. 5, 1923

City Road Church Buys Woodley Home. . . Long Desired Property Now Available in Case Methodists Would Enlarge or Build

City Road Methodist Church has acquired title to the home and lot of W.W. Woodley on North Road Street adjoining the church, after many months of bargaining for its purchase. The consideration was $6,000.

At one time, the church planned to erect an addition to its Sunday School rooms and wanted the property for that purpose. But the plans were abandoned because the property could not be bought by the church at that time.

The Woodley home for the time may be used for Sunday school rooms, the church announcing no definite plans as to its removal. The property is 120 feet deep and fronts 52 feet on Road street. This with the site of City Road Church, will give the City Road Methodists a frontage totaling over 150 feet on Road Street in the event they should want to erect a new church or to make additions to the present structure.
