San Antonio, Tex., Dec. 18—Captain Harold E. Sturken, commanding officer of the 47th school squadron at Brooks field, was killed near Temple today with Sergeant Cyril E. Ryals, when their plane fell. He was making a cross-country flight to Dallas to get a doll for his 3-year-old daughter for Christmas.
The doll was ordered several days ago but had not arrived.
