Wilmington, Jan. 18—Fire believed to have been caused by spontaneous combustion in the plant of the Wilmington Compress and warehouse company early today at a loss of approximately $100,000, covered by insurance.
Five men tonight are still pouring water on the smoldering cotton bales, but work has gone on uninterrupted since 10 o’clock this morning.
