Funeral of Mrs. Grady Stubbs. . . Remains Interred in Stubbs’ Burying Ground Near Purvis

The funeral of Mrs. Grady Stubbs was conducted from the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Odom, at 10 o’clock Friday morning by her pastor, Rev. Mr. McCarter of the Rowland Baptist church, assisted by Rev. P.D. Woodall of the M.E. church, also of Rowland, and her body was tenderly laid to rest among a host of sorrowing relatives and friends in the Stubbs burying ground near Purvis.

She was a young bride of only 18 months. She leaves to mourn their loss a young husband, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Odom, five sisters, Mrs. J.T. McIntyre of Rowland and Mrs. W.L. Stone of Wilmington, Misses Marcella, Norabel and Aleen, and one brother, Mr. Bennett Odom of Rowland.

Mrs. Blanch Odom Stubbs was born in Clio, S.C., July 13th, 1903, she being 20 years, 6 months, 8 days old. She put her trust in Jesus two years ago and joined the Baptist church at Pleasant Grove.

The grave was completely covered with beautiful flowers, which showed the high esteem in which deceased was held.
