Posse Routs Florida Bandits

This photo shows “Dead Shot” Whitehurst, Judge Edgar C. Thompson and Ned Dorsey, members of the Sheriff’s posse which engaged in an all-day battle with the Ashley-Mobley gang of bandits in the Everglades of Florida, near West Palm Beach, in which two men were killed, many of the bandits captured, and the others driven into the fastness of the swamps. The bandit town was burned.
