Chief Flora of the Elizabeth City Fire Department made the Quickstep hook and ladder company a New Year’s gift of helmets, raincoats and boots, and the brave Quicksteps, who swear by chief Flora and would literally lay down their lives for him, are happier than ever today.
The gift was made possible by generous Elizabeth City citizens in appreciation of the services of the fire department.
