Fownes’ Residence at Pinehurst Burned

Pinehurst, N.C., Feb. 16—The winter residence of H.C. Fownes of Pittsburgh, Pa., today was destroyed by fire originating from a defective flue. The loss is estimated at $60,000. Members of the winter golf colony save most of the furniture.
