Grand Jury Indicts Winston-Salem Men in Bank Fraud Case

Indictments brought were returned by the grand jury in the United States district court here Tuesday charging violation of the national banking laws, abstraction and misappropriation of funds, and conspiracy to defraud, involving a total sum of $81,407.15 against J.S. Barr, formerly individual ledger bookkeeper in the Peoples’ national bank, Winston-Salem; R.N. Porter, one-time statement clerk in the same institution; and against J.D. Wagoner and D.B. Hill trading as Wagoner & Hill, Winston-Salem merchants and liverymen.

The cases against them are likely to be called for trial February 4th (last Monday).
