C.B. Giddings Thanks Durham Fire Department, May 3, 1924

C.B. Giddings Thanks Fire Department

Mr. C.B. Giddings, who has for many years owned and operated a pressing club in the city, and who had just recently moved from East Walnut street to one of the new store building son South Center street east, and was beginning to get in shape to do business on a larger scale had the misfortune of having a fire Thursday that did some damage to his fixtures and necessitating a delay in openings for business.

But for the prompt action and more than efficient service of the Goldsboro fire ladies, Mr. Giddings might now be suffering serious injuries. As it is he suffered slight burns, and finds that carpet slippers are proving to be more comfortable than they ever were before in his life.

Mr. Giddings has asked the News to acknowledge his gratitude, and extend heartfelt thanks to the members of the fire department for rendering such valuable aid.
