Plenty of Children Born in Park Place, May 22, 1924

Hollow’s New Census. . . Koch Boy Brings Juvenile Population to 23

A new Koch, the fourth, following Frederick, George, and Bobby. And this one, too, a boy. Born in Watts Hospital Saturday.

Just a year ago the weekly published a census of the children in Park Place, the settlement on the edge of Battle’s Park that bears the nickname Baby Hollow. The tabulation showed 12 boys and 4 girls. Since last May the total has grown from 16 to 23. Five of the newcomers came in the way usually favored in this colony, while two were gained by immigration from Wyoming by way of Cobb Terrace—0these two being the Hoefers.

The boys still outnumber the girls. The score is 17 to 6. Here is the roll complete:

Baker, 2 girls

Bradshaw, 1 boy

Carroll, 2 boys

Dashiell, 1 boy

Hibbard, 1 boy and 2 girls

Hoefer, 2 boys

Koch, 4 boys

Murchison, 2 boys and 1 girl

Proudy, 3 boys

Weaver, 1 boy and 1 girl
