E.L. Collins' Mother Has Died, June 6, 1924

E.L. Collins’ Mother Dead

Mrs. Sarah A. Collins, mother of E.L. Collins of the Collins feed store on Spring street, died last Saturday morning at her home at Afton, Okla., and burial was made there yesterday afternoon. Mrs. E.L. Collins had been at Afton assisting in the care of her mother-in-law the past five weeks, while Mr. Collins was called there last Thursday. Mrs. Collins and Mrs. R.H. Gillespie and the latter’s daughter, Burdell, returned last night from Afton, while Mr. Collins is expected to make his home with his son Clem, an internal revenue collector with headquarters at Denver, Colo.—Coffeyville (Kans.) Journal.

Mrs. Collins had many relatives and friends in this county. She was the daughter of J.D. Franks, and the sister of Mrs. John Henry of Holly Springs, Mrs. P.C. Wild of Burningtown, and Mr. E.H. Franks of Franklin.

A letter to the Press states that heart trouble was the cause of her death.
