Salisbury, June 20—Joe Phifer, 21, of Scotch Irish township, while helping is father cut wheat with a reaper, met with an accident which cost (caused?) him his death. He was driving the team of horses when a line broke and the horses ran away, throwing him in the reaper where he received severe injuries. He died soon after being rushed to a Statesville hospital.
