Reid S. Monroe Joins Plain Clothes Police Officers, June 13, 1924

Reid S. Monroe of Salisbury Made Plain Clothes Officers

Salisbury, June 12—Reid S. Monroe, who made a fine run against Sheriff Krider, one of the most popular officers in t5he state, and lost in the recent primary, has been named plain clothes officer for the city by the aldermen. Mr. Monroe was a member of the alderman board but resigned that position before the board went into the election of city policemen. No one has been named as alderman from the north ward to take Mr. Monroe’s place.

The aldermen elected P.S. Carlton as city attorney and made one change in the personnel of the city police force as it has been constituted, W.H. Booe taking the place of B.H. Poplin. All other city officers remain unchanged.
