Reason R. Bell Died July 8th

Mr. Reason R. Bell, a former Wilkes boy and citizen, died in Winston-Salem Tuesday, July 8th, at 8:20 o’clock. His body was shipped here last Thursday, arriving on the noon train. The burial was at Lewis church that afternoon. The Masonic Lodge of his home community, of which he was a member, conducted the burial services.

Mr. Bell was formerly known in days gone in Wilkesboro. He was reared in Lovelace township, Wilkes County, being the son of Slater and Malinda Anderson Bell. Their homestead place was what has since become known as the Reid & Tulbert store place.

His wife died about six or seven years ago, after they moved to Winston-Salem.

His death was said to have been caused from stomach trouble, having been unwell for a year, confined to his bed more or less for three months. He was 59 years of age. He married Miss Cenobia Somers from which marriage three sons and one daughter are living—all residing in Winston—Messrs. Noah, Reuben and Lichenstein Bell and Mrs. (Donnie) Columbus Baker.

The funeral was preached by Rev. R.N. Garner.
