Two Ministers Killed After Their Car Collided with Train, Sept. 6, 1924

Two Ministers Are Wreck Victims. . . Car Struck by Atlantic and Yadkin Train

Greensboro, Sept. 5—Rev. C.E. Crissman of High Point was killed instantly and Rev. C. Russell Sorrell, also of High Point, was fatally injured this afternoon when the automobile in which they were riding was struck and demolished by an Atlantic and Yadkin passenger train at a grade crossing directly in front of the Macedonia Baptist church, 19 miles southeast of this city.

Mr. Sorrell died in a hospital at Sanford this evening. The car, owned and driven by Mr. Sorrell, was struck squarely in the center by the locomotive, carried for about 25 yards and hurled to the side of the tracks, a mass of debris. Both ministers had been conducting services at Macedonia church.
