At the 1924 gathering of the North Carolina department of the American Legion at Asheville Tuesday, Major Wade H. Phillips of Lexington was elected State Commander. The next meeting of the Legion will be held at Fayetteville in 1924.
A.W. McLean and Josephus Daniels were the chief speakers at the Legion meeting.
