Confederate Veteran George Finch, 84, Died, Jan. 30, 1925

Prominent South Side Citizen Passes to His Eternal Reward

The death of Mr. George W. Finch, a well known and aged citizen of near Bailey, at his home on the 30th alt., brought deepest regret to scores of friends throughout all that section, and to his fellow comrades, members of the Nash County Camp Confederate Veterans, there in the sore loss of one of their beloved members.

The deceased had attained the extreme age of 84 years. For the past several months he had been in very feeble health and his taking was not unexpected. He is survived by five sons and two daughters, here being Messrs. J.W.B. Finch, D.N. Finch, C.R. Finch, R.L. Finch of Bailey, and C.C. Finch of Selma; Mrs. J.E. Bragg of near Bailey and Mrs. A.A. Morgan of near ??.

The deceased was a member of the Bailey Baptist Church and a consistent Christian. (Couldn’t make out the rest of the obituary.)
