Greensboro, Feb. 15—Judge James E. Boyd of the western North Carolina federal district, Saturday observed the 80th anniversary of his birth. Judge Boyd, who has been ill for the past year, appears to have been recovered practically and seems to be gaining every day. He underwent an operation at a hospital here during his illness.
