The county Poultry Association met last Friday, April 3rd, and elected the following officers for the coming year:
J.C. Henry, president.
W.T. Kilby, vice-president.
R.B. Pharr, secretary.
Executive committee: O.T. Minton, W.T. Kilby and H.H. Jennings.
A large crowd attended and the meeting was an enthusiastic one. One of the members present stated that he had 400 broilers that would be ready for the market in about 10 days. He said he had kept an accurate account of all expenses in getting the 400 chickens ready for market and that he would easily clear 50 cents a piece on the 400.
Five new members joined the association at the meeting Friday, namely: Mrs. R.L. Proffit, J.M. Handy, Bruce Billings, W.M. McGlamery and W.M. Absher.
The hour for the regular monthly meetings were changed from 4 p.m. to 2 p.m.
