Rev. Moore, 58, Dies Suddenly at Meeting Aug. 11, 1925

Rev. Dr. L.L. Moore, Presbyterian, of Taylorsville, Dead

Rev. L.L. Moore of Taylorsville died August 11th suddenly or dropped dead, while in Asheville attending the meeting of Presbytery.

He owned an orchard on the Brushy Mountain in the edge of Wilkes county near Kilby’s Gap and spent considerable time and money improving it during recent years. Later: The above is the report first heard in Wilkesboro Wednesday of last week. The Mooresville Enterprise says: “Dr. L.L. Moore, aged 58 years, died at Montreat suddenly about noon Tuesday. For a number of years Dr. Moore had been suffering with heart trouble, although only a few of his immediately close friends knew about it. For the past 14 years Dr. Moore had been pastor of the Presbyterian church at Taylorsville, where he was loved by all people of all denominations. He had gone to Montreat for a brief vacation, and his passing was a shock to his friends throughout the State. Dr. Moore was for several years a medical missionary to Japan, but on account of his physical condition he returned to the States and after a course in theology, entered the ministry. He has done a great work.

He has one son a minister and three brothers, one in Japan.
