More than usual local interest has been created by the shooting of W.W. Ormond by W.B. Cole in Rockingham Saturday afternoon by reason of the fact that Mr. Cole formerly lived in Concord and is remembered by many local persons.
Mr. Cole came to Concord about 30 years ago and for a short time was superintendent of the Cabarrus Mill here. He went to Rockingham from Concord and has been very successful as a cotton mill executive.
Concord friends remember Mr. Cole as a quiet, dignified man, given to serious thought to his business and showing keen interest in religious and civic matters.
