Florence Mill News

A revival meeting began Saturday night at the Missionary Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. L.M. Epley. Several others will assist him. Everybody is cordially invited to attend at 7:30 p.m.

Rev. L.M. Reid is conducted a brus arbor meeting near the home of Baxter Sisk at Shiloh. He reports a good meeting and a large crowd and also a special invitation to all who will attend.

Revs. Frank Settlemire and Dan S. Hardin hold meetings every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Dr. Young grove. They have a large attendance and a good meeting.

Rev. H.C. Sisk and his co-worker, Rev. Spurgeon Scruggs, closed the tent meeting at Rutherfordton last Sunday night. They had a good, successful meeting and a large attendance. Ninety-two professed faith in Christ and a number added to the church.

Mr. J.W. Halford moved here last week from Inman, S.C.

The Young Men’s Sunday school class of the Florence Baptist church entertained the young ladies’ class with a picnic last Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Georgia Lytles and two sons, Messrs. Willie and George Jr., and daughter, Miss Mary Lou, of Biltmore spent the week-end with relatives here.

Miss Zora Brandle and Mrs. Brunia Toole were visitors here Saturday.

Mrs. Bella Noblett of Bessimer City is visiting relatives here. She is 80 years old and is also blind.

Mrs. L.M. Jackson and daughter, Miss Nannie, Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Jackson attended services at Bills Creek church Sunday morning. They spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. Fletcher Jackson near Green Hill.

Mr. Blackburn and son, Albert, is visiting in Marion and Bridgewater this week.

Misses Nancy and Willie Owens and Eva Rich spent Monday with relatives, near Shiloh.

Mrs. Daisy Sisk and baby accompanied by Mrs. R.S. McCluney and children visited Mr. Lum Baileys, near Grover, Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Norman Henderson moved from Chesnee here last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Freeman visited in Ellenboro Saturday.
