Statesville, Sept. 10—W.H. Tarpley of Atlanta, Ga., died in a local hospital this afternoon as a result of injuries received this morning while engaged in erecting a cotton gin at Bear Poplar, Rowan county. He was thrown by a revolving pulley against a concrete floor, inflicting fatal internal injuries.
