Lexington, N.C., Dec. 17 (AP)—Burglars last night blew the vault of the Carolina Banking & Trust company and the safe of the post office at Denton, 20 miles east of here in this county, according to telephone messages received here by Sheriff R.B. Talbert.

Between $200 and $300 was taken from the post office, the officer was told. This amount was cash.

The vault of the bank had been wrecked by explosives, but so far employees had been unable to gain entrance to check up the loss.

Deputy Cashatt of Denton on the scene this morning, said the methods used gave indications of work of professional yeggmen. No clue had been found to identify the men, and it had not yet been possible to determine the hour of the robbery.

From the front page of The Concord Daily Tribune, Thursday, Dec. 17, 1925. Yeggmen were people who used explosives to open safes and vaults.
