Mr. and Mrs. James Poulson Russell announce the engagement of their daughter, Margie, to Mr. Walter Creigh Preston of Cincinnati, Ohio, the marriage to take place in the early fall.
The above announcement will be read with interest both here and elsewhere. Miss Russell is a talented young lady, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Russell of Lumberton. She attended Flora Macdonald College at Red Springs and has made a special study of art. She taught in the Lumberton schools, at Greenwood, Va., at Glendale College, Glendale, Ohio, at St. Paul, and last year was an art teacher at Fassifern School in Hendersonville. Miss Russell is now traveling in Europe. She is expected home about the middle of September.
Mr. Preston is a native of Lewisburg, West Virginia. He attended Greenbriar Military School and is a graduate of Washington and Lee University. Since receiving his degree from Johns Hopkins, he has been with the Proctor & Gamble Company as a research chemist.
