Our First Woman Physician

Dr. Catherine Cross

Miss Cross is the brilliant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Cross of Gatesville. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Medical school of 1923, and the third woman to take the medical course at this college. She graduated in 1925 from the Woman’s Medical College in Philadelphia and has served the past year’s internship at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital of Pittsburgh. She hasn’t determined where she will hang out her shingle. The photo is reproduced by courtesy of the Hertford County Herald.
