The first terra cotta stone front in Elizabeth City was completed this week on the new Selig Building on East Main Street, adjoining McCabe & Grice. The building itself is far from complete, there having been many delays in assembling materials. It was planned to have the store completed in time for occupancy this fall but it appears now that the job will be turned over too late for the jewelry firm of Louis Selig to move in until after the Christmas holiday.
