On Monday evening the old members of the Science Club entertained the new members at a picnic at the Power Plant, about 15 miles from Salem. The picnickers built a fire on the sand by the river. Hot coffee and roasted weiners were probably not scientifically cooked, but they were enjoyed by the Science Club.
After supper everyone went for a boat ride on the river. The club returned to Salem at about 9 o’clock.
The new members of the club are: Janie Little, Mary M. Faulkner, Letitia Currie, Sarah Turlington, mary Duncan McAnnally, Dot Frazier, Mary Audrey Stough, Sarah Dowling, Elizabeth Dowling, Martha Dortch, Elizabeth Crouse, Rachel Phillips, Elizabeth Hobgood, Margaret Schwarze.
