Mrs. Murphy baked a beautiful angel cake for the boys’ Thanksgiving and Mrs. E.B. Menzies and Miss Janie made the cookies and roles, served with the turkey on that day.

In spite of the generous donations the increasingly large numbers of soldiers passing through Hickory make it hard to keep up the supply of home-made cakes, and to those ladies who wish to contribute it is safe to say that these boys will enjoy nothing more than a chance to sample your Christmas baking.
