Cases Settled in Mayor's Court, Wilson, June 18, 1919

Mayor’s Court

Guy Reeves was charged $9.25 for disturbing religious worship. He went into the church of the “Church of God and the Saints of Christ,” and advancing upon the preacher, Rev. Joe Johnson, with a knife, it was alleged he attacked the preacher, whereupon His Reverend took a chair from the choir loft and proceeded to work on Reeves. He was making good progress when the congregation stopped their shouting and rolling and went to fighting, and then the wife and daughter of the preacher also got into it. The preacher was also fined $9.25 for disorderly conduct.

Bill Hines was charged $1 for riding a bicycle on the sidewalk.

Tobe Barns was charged $4.25 for being drunk

Andy Gofer was charged $4.25 for being drunk.
