The massacre of 10,000 Armenians by the Turks within the past week has made sad the hearts of the Armenian colony several families. The central figure in Elizabeth City, of which there are the Armenian colony in this city, is Mike Mettrey. During the past 12 months Mike has sent upwards of $1,800 of his savings to suffering kinsmen and friends in Bible Lands.
