Prof. Thompson Remains Unconscious After Run Over By Car, Dec. 1, 1920

Statesville, Dec. 1—the condition of Prof. D. Matt Thompson, for the past 29 years superintendent of the Statesville graded schools, was unchanged this afternoon and he was still unconscious as the result of a fractured skull. He was run over by an automobile driving by D.D. Harris, a young man. Professor Thompson is the father of Dorman Thompson, well-known lawyer, and of Walter Thompson, superintendent of the children’s home at Winston-Salem. (From the Hickory Daily Record, Dec. 1, 1920
