What is said to be one of the handsomest service stations in the state has been opened at East Avenue and Alexander streets by the Bost-Dickens Service Company. The company is chartered by the secretary of state with an authorized capital of $50,000.
The building occupied by the corporation was erected by the Charlotte company and is just completed. It stands on the front of the lot of the former Sheriff White residence and is 90 by 86 feet in dimension and two stories in height. The construction is brick, stone and steel. The building cost approximately $45,000.
On the lower floor, which is level with the street and laid in cement are three tanks, a wash basin, battery service and complete mechanical service, with a full line of auto accessories carried in stock.
The structure has a storage capacity of 100 cars, with an entrance from Alexander street to the second floor, affording access to the street.
H.S. Bost, formerly of Rowan county, and I.H. Dickens, formerly of Hendersonville, are in active charge of the plant.
