J.B. Cox was slightly injured by cuts and obtusions (contusions?) on the head, and his two companions, bruised and scratched when the Ford car which he was driving collided with a car which was parked on Fourth Street between Market and Princess street early last night. Cox was taken to James Walker Memorial hospital, where his wounds were treated. While at the hospital, he was arrested by Chief of Police C.C. Cashwell on a charge of operating an automobile while under the influence of intoxicating liquor and was allowed to remain in the hospital.
Cox was accompanied by Clyde McAlpin and Fred N. Davis, neither of whom were detained by police, who were not guilty of any misconduct but were merely riding with the driver at the time of the accident. The car with which the Ford collided is thought to belong to the repair shop in front of which the smash-up occurred.
