Mrs. A.J. Dickerson Laid to Rest, May 9, 1922

Remains of Mrs. A.J. Dickerson Laid to Rest. . . Large Crowd Gather at Bethel Church

The whole country side out beyond Dickerson and many friends from Oxford attended the funeral and burial of Mrs. A.J. Dickerson at Bethel Church last Saturday afternoon at 4 o’clock. Rev. Thompson, a former pastor of Bethel, assisted Rev. Black with the services.

There was scarcely a dry eye in the congregation as both preachers enumerated the many Christian graces of the deceased, who had endeared herself to all who knew her, and who will be greatly missed in the community.

Besides a devoted husband, Mrs. Dickerson is survived by three daughters and two sons, namely Mrs. T. Longmire, Mrs. W.H. Blackwell, Mrs. Hallie Dickerson and Messrs. Fletcher and Carroll Dickerson, all of Granville.

The active pallbearers were J.E. Knott, Ben Y. Hunt, C.H. Hicks, H.A. Hight, L.L. Gresham, Norfleet Blackwell. The flower bearers were Gladys Hunt, Blanche Blackwell, Jeannette Blackwell, Gladys Harris, Lula Bell Harris, Helen Stem, Elizabeth Dorsey, Helen Wrenn.
