Young Wife Dies After Illness of a Few Hours, May 12, 1922

Mrs. Bertha Leary Burgess, wife of Enos Burgess of Old Trap, died at her home last Monday, after having been married a little over a year. She was ill only a few hours. The funeral services were conducted in the Methodist church by a former pastor, the Rev. A.W. Price of Avon, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Huggins of Shawboro. Mrs. Burgess was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.K. Leary of Old Trap, besides whom she is survived by six brothers and three sisters.
