Kinston’s curb market Saturday made a better showing than on Wednesday. County produce, eggs, chickens, fruits, cured meats and cider were offered for sale, but not in great amount. Excessive rains of the past week kept many farmers from remote points.
The project is a good one; buyers and sellers are coming to a better understanding, and the householders of Kinston have given the market liberal support. County officials, and the various civic organizations of Kinston have given to this enterprise wholesale support, with the idea of bringing the country producer and the buyer into closer contact for their mutual advantage. The curb market is a success. It is a good institution, and is expected to improve and grow.
