Mr. John E. Morton died last Friday at his home in Columbia, S.C., after a short illness of pneumonia. Mr. Morton was 48 years old, and was a native of Anson, being a son of the late Joe Morton. He has a number of relatives in this county. He is survived by his wife and by several children.
