Rockingham Splits on Anti-KKK Bill, Feb. 14, 1923

Rockingham Representatives Split on Anti-Klux Measure

Aye—Rankin.

Nay—Walker.

Rockingham’s two representatives in the house parted company when a vote was called for on Milliken’s anti-Ku Klux bill. With amendments giving the bill a mouthful of teeth, the house last night passed the bill on second reading by 70 to 42.

The assembly hall was filled with Kluckers who were silent as the measure was approved.
