Funeral of Mrs. W.J. Armstrong

The funeral of Mrs. W.J. Armstrong was conducted at the home on Beech street Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by Rev. R.F. Hall. The pallbearers were Raymond Pritchard, Vann Sawyer, Eli Copeland, Luther White, Leonard Armstrong and Whit Ward.

Mrs. Armstrong is survived by her husband, one daughter, Miss Mattie Armstrong; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Pritchard of Route five; one sister, Mrs. Vann Sawyer of this city, and five brothers, Durane, Lucian and Tom Pritchard of this city, and Durwood Pritchard of High Point.

From the front page of The Daily Advance, Elizabeth City, N.C., Saturday, March 3, 1923. Mrs. Armstrong’s obituary said she was survived by five brothers but only four were listed. A Raymond Pritchard was listed as a pallbearer; perhaps he was the fifth brother?
