Corinth Community News

Monroe, F.R.W. 5, April 9—Very little farm work has been done. The farmers have not been able to catch the ground dry enough. If the wind blows and the sun shines a little now, there will be some hustling.

Mrs. Melissa Price and son Carl drove to Corinth Sunday to hear Rev. Zeb Caudle preach. And they heard a good sermon that day.

Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Hannah spent Sunday with the family of Mrs. Luilis Whitaker near Monroe.

Mr. George Hart is building a nice cottage on his place where the old house was burned some time ago.

The writer is very sorry to say that his old friend, Mr. Stewart Spittle, who has been confined to his home for nearly two months, is not improving any at this time.

During the summer the preaching hour at Corinth will be 4 o’clock in the afternoon instead of 3 as heretofore.

Messrs. Sidney and Wriston Griffin of the Sandy Ridge section were visitors in the community Sunday.

Master Reuben Whitaker of Houston was the guest of his little friend Suford Richardson, Sunday.

Miss Dora Irby of Monroe spent last week with Miss Lillie Hannah of Houston. Mrs. Martha Belk of this community spent Friday and Saturday with her daughter, Mrs. Maggie Irby of Monroe.

Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey Griffin of Mineral Springs spent Sunday with the former’s parents here, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Griffin.

Mr. H.A. McCorkle has been sick some time but is improving.
