Church Mourns Loss of Mrs. Sylvia Byrd, July 5, 1923

Death of Mrs. Sylvia Byrd

Mrs. Sylvia Byrd, one of the oldest and most faithful members of the A.M.E. Zion Church, departed this life June 8th, after an illness of two years. She joined the A.M.E. Zion church 45 years ago and lived and lived a devoted Christian life until her death. She leaves to mourn their loss three sons, one sister, one brother, and a husband, nine grand children and a host of friends.

The funeral was conducted at the A.M.E. Zion church by Rev. Johnson, pastor of the A.M.E. church.

Sleep on mother, and take thy rest,

We loved thee much, but God loved thee best.
