From the Saturday Night Police Blotter in Durham, Aug. 19, 1923

Many Arrests on Saturday. . . Polic Gather in Usual Crop of Week-End Defendants

The usual crop of Saturday arrests was gathered in yesterday by members of the local police department. Charges, as usual, vary from gambling and drunkenness to affrays and larceny. Among the names appearing on the blotter are the following:

Bradley Womble, Raleigh lawyer, speeding, cited to court

John Gregory, assault and battery, $10 bond

Frank Rogers, affray, $25 bond

Lee Collie, Ed Brown, Ernest Collie, Erwin Allen, George Bane, and Odolphus Sanford, gambling, cited to court H.V. Hicks, worthless check, released on bond

Ella Mae Harper, held for W.E. Stanley, welfare officer

Pollie King, held for W.E. Stanley, welfare officer

Stella Sides of Lenoir, larceny.
